Day 71 Above Fiery Furnace

Today was a struggle in value. Not sure why, I know it's the first thing I need to determine in a painting but my eyes were telling me one thing and my value tools were telling me another. COLOR was the culprit - changing my values to what I thought were darker when really it was lighter. I'm going to reference my sketches and photos and contemplate on this awhile. Regardless, I did have fun painting even though I know my values weren't quite right ... there is always tomorrow!
